Training Schedule

Optimal Goalie is the only performance training facility in Minnesota, totally dedicated to goalie off-ice training. We offer programs year around for goalies of all ages and abilities.

Spring 2021

After a long season the right recovery program is what every goalie needs to be ready for their summer training. Our spring programs focus on mental and physical recovery. Every training session works on correcting mental, muscular and mobility imbalances that may have developed during the season.

Spring training programs start the week of April 19th and end the week of May 24th. All programs have a max of 12 goalies per group.

Summer 2021

Our summer training programs target the individual performance needs of each goalie. From developing strength to athleticism, we have a program for you. Every one our programs is designed using proven science-based sports performance training methods to give you the results you’re looking for.

There are many options for off-ice training but not any locally geared towards goalies. This is what intrigued me about Optimal Goalie for my son’s goalie off-ice training. His goalie coach recommended working with Larry and the training was as good as advertised. The program has been geared towards my son’s specific needs as a goalie. I have noticed a great improvement in my son’s performance on the ice. From greater lateral movement, speed, and confidence in his game.
For the last two years my son has really enjoyed working with Larry as he is always positive in his encouragement and knows how to positively push my son out of his comfort zone to get him to achieve his goals on and off the ice. I would highly recommend Larry and Optimal Goalie to anyone who is looking for a great off-ice goalie training program.

Summer training programs start the week of June 14th and end the week of August 23rd. All programs will have a week off for the 4th of July, from Monday July 5th to Friday July 9th. All programs have a max of 12 goalies per group.  


The program focuses on building the foundational skills of athleticism. Over the five summer sessions goalies will play a wide variety of games and go through athletic activities used to introduce elementary movements of athleticism.


The program focuses on developing proper body movement for athletic performance. Goalies will use bodyweight strengthening exercises, athletic activities, and variety of games to develop their strength and athleticism related to goalie performance on the ice.


This program introduces each goalie into the first phase of our strength development program. Each goalie will have a custom program that includes conditioning and nutrition.


This program is the second phase of our strength development program. Each goalie will have a custom program that includes conditioning, nutrition, and skills development.


Are you a college or high school goalie already involved in an off-ice training program, but are looking for some additional off-ice training that doesn’t involve lifting? Then this is the program for you, we will develop all the unique athletic skills needed to perform at your best in the crease.


At Optimal Goalie you will experience a completely customized off-ice training program designed around your on-ice training and off-season recovery. We will work together to improve your performance through off-ice development giving you the ability to perform at your highest level. Every program is designed with athletic progression to ensure that we are maximizing your performance in the crease.
